The annual ceremony of awarding the National Industry Prize “GOLDEN SPINDLE-” was held on the final day of the “Russian Textile Week – 2018”and the Interfabric exhibition, March 23, 2018 in the “Expocenter”. Laureates of the award in different nominations were enterprises of the textile and light industry of Russia, fashion houses, design bureaus, Russian designers, trade organizations, journalists whose professional activities contribute to the development of the fashion industry in our country. zolver1 “Golden Spindle” is the main award in the Russian fashion industry, an annual assessment of the highest professional achievements in the sphere of formation and development of the fashion industry in Russia. Its winners in different nominations were enterprises of the textile and light industry of Russia, fashion houses, design bureaus, Russian designers, designers of employees of companies and industries, trade organizations whose professional activities contribute to the development of the fashion industry in our country. History of the award. The history of the prize is inextricably linked with the festival “Velvet Seasons in Sochi”, which was first held in Sochi in 1997, in the hotel complex “Dagomys”, in which a stage was specially created for the festival. It was a difficult time for light industry – borders were opened, the whole country was flooded with Turkish goods; Soviet industry was still working, and the artists had already gained freedom and sought to do “as in the West” without understanding how. A group of enthusiasts decided to “win” the market back. Lyudmila Ivanova and Vyacheslav Zaitsev, after their meeting in Moscow, conceived a Russian fashion festival “Velvet Seasons”, the motto of which was “the Russian product of the Russian market.” The festival lasted a week, passing in the format of bright and large shows, sometimes it was about 50-70 things in collections of designers and textile enterprises. Visitors came to Sochi from different regions of the country. The author of the best collection of the festival received the “Golden Spindle” – a statuette of gold-plated silver as a stylized spindle – one of the oldest symbols of textile production. The statuette was made in Sofrino with the blessing of the Patriarch. Three years later, the Festival moved to the center of Sochi, the Winter Theater, the largest specialized area in the city for a thousand seats. Kinotavr opened the summer season, Velvet seasons closed. The world and the market changed, but designers and businesses continued to work no matter what. In the process of realizing the concept of the festival “Velvet Seasons” in Sochi, many like-minded people took place under the chairmanship of Vyacheslav Zaitsev and joined the National Academy of Fashion Industry. So there was an idea about determining the best in every sphere of fashion and realized the idea of creating a national award in the field of the fashion industry on the final day of the festival. The organizers contacted professional communities from other regions who evaluated and recommended the nominees. Gradually from the big show, which annually demonstrated the possibilities of Russian design and manufacturer, the Golden Spindle Prize became a highly specialized and independent history. About a hundred nominees claimed the title of laureate of the National Award. Annually academicians of NAIEM at a special meeting elected the best nominees by open voting. Thanks to the opportunity to select nominees from different market segments, the number of premium nominations has increased – the winners of the award each year were not only domestic textile and light industry enterprises, fashion houses, designers and designers, but also journalists, theater, film and other professionals whose activities contribute to development of the fashion industry in Russia. Honored awards were received from the hands of prominent representatives of the authorities, important artists and the world of fashion. The list of laureates of the award would be incomplete without representatives of working professions in the field of the fashion industry. This is how one of the most important and main nominations of the award – the Workers’ Professions – appeared, which strengthened the prestige of the Golden Spindle Award both within enterprises and among middle and lower-level workers. The founders of the award (NAIIM, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation) believe that the celebration of workers whose hands embody the ideas of designers in the material should take place at the highest level. Since 2013, the National Prize in the field of the fashion industry “Golden Spindle” is always awarded to the best workers of a number of industry enterprises.
It was in 2013 that the prize ceased to be a regional story – thanks to the support of the founders and the government, in 2013 the Golden Spindles were awarded in St. Petersburg at the Konstantinovsky Palace. In 2015, the presentation of the award was held in a place, which is very important for any Russian, in the heart of the Sochi Olympic Park. Finally, the prize moved to Moscow, becoming the very consolidating point that not only gathers professionals, but also gives them a field for exchange of experience, new acquaintances and business connections.
