Within the framework of the
Russian Textile Week – 2017, a round table ‘
Light industry for the Furniture Industry‘ was held, organized by the
Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry and the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia.
The moderator of the round table, the president of the
Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry Andrey Razbrodin, in the introductory part, noted the importance of the interaction of these industries, which can accelerate the solution of the problems of import substitution in the furniture industry.
On the problems of the furniture industry told
Oleg Numerov, general director of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Industries of Russia. He outlined the situation and noted that the policy of import substitution led to an increase in exports, which by furniture amounted to about
10%, and on wood plates as much as
20%.
The round table participants concluded that the domestic light industry can meet the needs of soft furniture manufacturers, if the latter form a portfolio of their orders.
