The Vologda textile mill has reoriented its weaving capacity to produce special muslin fabric for reusable medical masks, the press service of SFK Sistema reports.
The fabric is four times the density of gauze.
The company has already sent the first 6.4 thousand linear meters of natural fabric to the sewing enterprises for the manufacture of 100 thousand masks for the needs of the Vologda region.
The plant has a stock of fabrics that can be used to produce over 800 thousand masks.
Due to the mass demand for such products in the country, Vologda Textile converts additional capacities to the need of quarantine, which will increase the production of fabrics by five times - up to 120 thousand linear meters per month (equivalent to two million masks), including other regions of Russia.
In addition, in the near future the company plans to organize experimental production of fabric with the subsequent application of a special membrane and impregnation for the manufacture of plague costumes on the basis of its own sewing workshop.
Vologda textile mill is a full-cycle enterprise for the production of fabrics and finished textile products. The plant is a part of SFK Sistema Group.
